If you are a recent MIT graduate and would like to add your thesis to the theses in DSpace, see Add Your Thesis to MIT’s DSpace for instructions.
MIT’s DSpace contains more than 53,000 theses completed at MIT dating as far back as the mid 1800’s. Theses in this collection have been scanned by the MIT Libraries or submitted in electronic format by thesis authors. Since 2004 all new Masters and Ph.D. theses are scanned and added to this collection after degrees are awarded.

When you come to review a particular thesis, please have your Cal ID with you and plan to stay in the History Department office while you review the paper, as theses are not to leave the office. Although a paper directory of theses is available in the office, it is recommended that you identify the theses you would like to review beforehand using the online database.
The Department maintains a History 101 Thesis Library in 3229 Dwinelle Hall for student access. The library holds all papers with High Honors and Highest Honors designations dating back to 2005. Due to library capacity limitations, papers designated either Honors or Non-Honors are purged after five years.

Since 2008, all graduates have been obliged to archive their academic theses electronically in this repository. The full texts are archived royalty-free (i.e. with maximum protection under copyright) and always following the approval of the relevant authors.
Academic theses that have been approved before 2008 can be uploaded directly to and published on the server, unless this would violate any legal or statutory regulations.

You can find all of the theses of the new higher education community through Andor. Most of the latest theses are available openly online. Links for them can be found through Andor. Check the availability and location information of older theses also in Andor.
In Andor Basic search you may limit your search to either Tampere University’s theses in Trepo or Tampere University of Applied Sciences’ theses in Theseus. In Andor you may also limit your search to thesis afterwards using Resource Type limitation on the left-hand menu.
